Friends of Ide School

All parents automatically belong to our active parent association – Friends of Ide School (FIS).

Through FIS, parents help the school in many ways, not least through the fundraising committee that organises events to raise money for special purchases. FIS is a registered charity – Charity Number 1098614

We organise the Summer Fete, Christmas Fete, Easter Discos, Cake sales, Ice-cream Fridays, Christmas cards and school calendars, as well as raising funds for a wide range of projects.

• Early Years Outdoor area (£500)
• Banners for the hall (£500)
• Willow structure in garden (£400)
• Glockenspiels for music, games for playtime, netballs, sandpit etc
• Theatre Alibi visits
• Maths workshop for all pupils (£495)
• Gifted and Talented workshops
• Leavers gifts and medals
• Ice-pops for sports day
• Hoodies for BYA pupils
• Food and drink for social events like New Parents’ evenings

FIS committee meetings are held most months – we run through finances, school requests, upcoming events etc. This is open to all, so if you are interested in being part of this please do come along – all help is appreciated!

The next meeting is Thursday 25th April 2024, at the Huntsman Inn at 6.30pm.

This will be followed by a FIS pub social from 7.30pm – a chance to meet with other parents and friends, to hear plans for events and find out how to get involved.
