Philosophers at Ide (PSHE and RSE)
How do we teach PSHE and RSE and why has this approach been chosen?
At Ide Primary School, PSHE is at the core of what we do and enables our children to become independent, confident, healthy and responsible members of society, as well as developing the “whole child” intellectually, morally, socially and spiritually. Through our whole-school approach to PSHE, it is our belief that excellence in these areas will lead to excellence across the curriculum and beyond in later life.
The PSHE and RSE curriculum has been organised around the following themes:
- Me and my relationships
- Valuing difference
- Keeping myself safe
- Rights and responsibilities
- Growing and changing
We have worked with SCARF to develop the PSHE and RSE curriculum. We have consulted with parents, governors, and staff to develop our policy on PSHE and RSE.
