Ide Nursery is a thriving setting that is fully integrated into our main Primary School. We provide education for 3 and 4-year-olds and enjoy learning in our spacious classroom, outdoor area and across the whole school environment, including the field, hall, library and multi-use gym area.
Our vision is to support the children here to be happy, self-motivated, engaged, independent, empathetic, resilient, creative, and curious.
Children will have an abundance of opportunities to learn through play at Ide Nursery. All of our early year’s practitioners are highly skilled in interacting positively at the right time during play in order to develop and deepen the children’s learning.
The children are supported and encouraged to take part in adult-led, small and large group activities. These introduce the children to new experiences and help them gain skills and knowledge and learn to work with others.
Our curriculum for the foundation stage is based on the 7 areas of learning within the EYFS Framework. The 7 areas of learning are Communication and Language, Personal Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, Expressive arts and design.
Children explore all key areas of the curriculum, being for example geographers, mathematicians, philosophers and scientists! If children go on to attend Ide Primary School, their understanding of these will be developed even further.
The children here are actively involved in whole school events such as the Mini London Marathon, National Sport’s Week, NSPCC Number Day and World Book Day.
The 4 overarching themes of the EYFS that shape our approach are: The Unique Pupil, Positive Relationships, Enabling Environment, Learning & Development.
When Children arrive they have their own named coat peg, they have a trolley for lunch boxes and their own trays for snacks.

The Government provides universal 15 hours funded childcare for 3 and 4-year-olds to attend an early years setting for 38 weeks (190 days) of the year.
