Uniform

Our school uniform should support learning by being a safe, comfortable and minimising distraction to learning. Wearing a shared, smart uniform to school helps to reinforce the feeling amongst pupils that:

  • We enjoy our shared identity as a school
  • We care about our personal presentation as well as the presentation of our learning

School Uniform

*Our school uniform list is non-gender specific

  • Ide navy polo shirt
  • Ide green sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Grey dress, skirt, trousers, culottes or shorts
  • Green checked summer dress, skirt or culottes
  • Black shoes or trainers
  • Plain coloured socks (black, grey or white)

Jewellery should be kept to a minimum. Stud earrings are the only type of jewellery that may be worn.

Simple hair bands or clips in school colours may be worn, but large bows can become a distraction to learning and are therefore not suitable. Hair that is shoulder length or longer should be tied back. Nail varnish, make-up and temporary tattoos should not be worn to school.

PE Kit

PE is a key aspect of our curriculum and one which children very much enjoy.

Here is a reminder of what the PE kit should include:

  • Green Ide PE t-shirt
  • Black or navy shorts
  • Black or navy leggings or tracksuit bottoms for colder days
  • Trainers or plimsolls

Most of our PE lessons will be outside so please ensure that your child brings in a school sweatshirt and a waterproof coat when the weather is cold/wet.

Support

We will have an informal discussion with parents if pupils do not have the correct items of uniform to see how we can support. If there are any questions regarding the school uniform or PE kit, parents and carers are encouraged to speak to school staff who will always seek ways to help. If finances are a barrier to having the correct uniform, the school will be very happy to discuss possible ways to support parents/carers.

We have a range of uniform available through Friends of Ide School:
