House Captains
This year, our House Captains are:
- African Elephant: Eoghan (C) Lillie (V)
- Giant Panda: Sophia (C) Amelie (V)
- Hummingbird: Jess (C) Eva (V)
- Siberian Tiger: Eddie (C) Nathanial (V)
Becoming a House Captain is an important part of being in Year 6. We had to do a presentation to our house about why we should be chosen to be House Captains and a vote was carried out – we were very nervous!
As House Captains, we have to be role models for others in the school and we are able to represent our school and village in many different ways.
This year, we have been raising money for different charities by selling poppies and raffle tickets. We had a ‘Family Group’ session to make poppies with our houses. We handed out Christmas cards to our houses that had been put in the school postbox.
We hope you appreciate the hard work we will all be putting in to make our school an even better place for everyone.

We are in Years 5 and 6 and we help to teach our school friends about how to stay safe online. We also help Miss Parkin to keep the laptops charged and we take them to classes when they are being Computer Engineers. We make sure that Kindles are on charge and we help people when they have problems with equipment.
We used to have a computer suite but we raised enough money last year (by having a sponsored no-technology day) to buy two laptop trolleys so now we can be Computer Engineers in class!
We will be going to the Apple Store this year to have some workshops on Coding using Apple products.
We think it is really important to stay safe online and we like teaching people about this. Google Legends came in to our school and helped us learn even more about this.
We wear special ‘Digital Leader’ badges so you can recognise us in school – please ask us about how to stay safe online or how to use our equipment!

We are very lucky to have a large school library that is decorated with all of our learning behaviours.
Our job is to keep the library tidy, make sure we have enough books, recommend books to other children and find out what books children would like in school. We also run competitions and reading challenges for people to take part in.
We hope you appreciate the hard work we will all be putting in to make our school an even better place for everyone, through the love of reading.

This year, our School Council representatives are:
- Chestnut: Teddy & Ben
- Elm: Oscar & Olivier
- Willow: Freddie & Poppy
- Maple: Ava & Jacob
The children meet with Miss Purcell once a week (the days might change) and discuss issues that come up each week. We have been elected by our class to discuss things that are important to them.
Our project this term is to raise money to buy new Lego for the Lego table and also to buy a net to cover the MUGA so that we don’t lose balls.
We listened to our classmates who said that they didn’t like the organisation on the MUGA. Because of this, we have worked with the Bronze Young Ambassadors to organise playground activities and a timetable that suits everyone.
We hope you appreciate the hard work we will all be putting in to make our school an even better place for everyone.
